I read about the harmfulness of paracetamol, well in the UK, veterinarians have been giving this remedy to animals for some time, claiming that it is helpful and does not harm at all. I received this information from a Polish veterinarian who was with friends for 2 months in Great Britain. Tatem not gossip . And here the question arises paracetamol is or not harmful?

Paracetamol, like any other medicine, can cause side effects and its use may be contraindicated or require special care for some patients (eg people with liver or kidney insufficiency, alcohol abuse, with bronchial asthma), due to the increased danger. However, this drug is very well studied and used in recommended doses, it is considered safe and well tolerated by most people. Unlike other analgesics (e.g. ibuprofen, ketoprofen), it does not cause side effects from the digestive system, so it can be safely used in people with its diseases (e.g. peptic ulcer disease, reflux). However, paracetamol is toxic to animals (especially cats, but also to Japanese breeds of akita, tosa dogs), because drugs are metabolized differently - their body lacks the enzymes necessary for this. However, this does not apply to all animals - paracetamol can be safely used, for example, in pigs.
