Hi I got my period today, unfortunately I can take birth control pills only from tomorrow because only tomorrow I have the opportunity to pick up medication, they are axia conti, will I be protected from pregnancy immediately after taking even if I take them tomorrow? However, should I protect myself for the next 7 days with a condom, and then I can give them up? Thank you very much in advance for your reply ❤

If you have not used hormone contraceptives in the previous month, you should start using Axia Conti on the first day of your cycle (that is, on the first day of menstruation). Only then the drug immediately protects against getting pregnant. You can also start taking the drug between the 2nd and 5th day of the cycle. Then, however, the patient must use an additional method of contraception (e.g. condoms) for the first 7 days of taking the pills. Therefore, if you do not have time to start the package on the first day of menstruation, the protection will not appear immediately.
