It is not recommended to use non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which include ketoprofen - the active substance of Ketonal during treatment with Xarelto. Concomitant use of these drugs may increase the risk of bleeding, as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs inhibit platelet aggregation (clumping). A safer drug in this situation is paracetamol, which does not exert an anti-aggregation effect, however, does not have an anti-inflammatory effect.
