An antigen test (nasal swab) is used to detect the current infection. A positive result indicates that the patient is sick with COVID-19. Serological tests (from blood) allow you to determine the presence of antibodies and assess whether there has been an infection in the near or distant past. Such a test is not used to detect or confirm current infection. Its negative result speaks in favor of the fact that the patient has not previously had COVID-19. In case of infection, only after some time antibodies appear - first in the IgM class, and then in the IgG class, which such a test detects. In case of any doubts regarding the diagnosis of COVID-19 and your health condition, I suggest you consult your family doctor. You can also confirm the infection by submitting a PCR test detecting the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
