Should you stop taking Tardyferon-fol when there is a dark coloration of the stool?
I am taking tardiferon-fol due to iron deficiency, should I stop taking the drug if there are side effects (dark stool coloration)? I had already taken this medicine before and everything was fine

Instead of Tardyferon - I do not know how for you, but for me it is a heavy drug, terrible, after 2 days constipation and abdominal pain, a feeling of heaviness - try Floradix mit eisen - German, natural composition, I just finished a bottle of 250 ml. It works because I feel better and I have no problems with the stomach, defecation. I bought now Floradix iron Polish - apparently the same company, also a natural composition - I will see how it works. I've already taken various tabls: Hemofer, Ferrum and these were a little better, but Tardyferon - a failure.

Podczas przyjmowania preparatów z żelazem może dojść do wystąpienia ciemnych zabarwień stolca. Jest to jedno z częstych działań niepożądanych, które może występować u wielu pacjentów, ale nie jest groźne dla zdrowia. Nadmiar żelaza jest wydalany z kałem, stąd też zmiana barwy. Jeżeli nie ma innych niepożądanych objawów z związanych z kałem (np. krew), to można kontynuować leczenie. To działanie niepożądane nie musi wystąpić za każdym razem, stąd też mogło nie pojawić się podczas wcześniejszego stosowania preparatu.
Działania niepożądane preparatu można również zgłosić do Urzędu Rejestracji Produktów Leczniczych lub Podmiotu odpowiedzialnego za dany lek.
