There is no indication in the Summary of Product Characteristics or the package leaflet of Neoparin that there is an interaction between Neoparin and alcohol consumption. Please remember, however, that drinking a large amount of alcohol once may cause a decrease in blood clotting, thus increasing the risk of bleeding complications, e.g. gastrointestinal bleeding. It is usually allowed to consume small amounts of alcohol, i.e. 1 to 2 standard drinks per day. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines a "standard drink" as 10 g of pure ethyl alcohol, that is, about 30 ml of vodka, 100 ml of wine, 300 ml of beer.
