She has been taking the contraceptive pill Limetic regularly for the past two years. Recently, however, instead of taking the pill at 9 p.m., she did it at 2:30 a.m., which is 5.5 hours later. Has the effectiveness been reduced in such a situation? And does taking the pills between 9-9:30 p.m. affect the effectiveness? Do you have to take them punctually to the minute ?

The tablets should be taken at about the same time each day so that there is always a 24-hour interval between the tablets.
Information about a delay in taking the medicine:
"If more than 36 hours have elapsed between taking two consecutive tablets, the contraceptive effectiveness may be reduced. If you are less than 12 hours late in taking your tablet, you should take the missed tablet as soon as you remember and take the next tablet at the usual time. If the delay is more than 12 hours, you should use an additional method of contraception for a further 7 days. If you miss a tablet in the first week after starting Limetic and you have had sexual intercourse in the week before you forget to take the tablets, you should consider the possibility of pregnancy."
