You have done the right thing and you are protected. The December 16 intercourse was properly secured and there is no cause for concern.
If less than 24 hours have elapsed since you were scheduled to take the tablet, the contraceptive protection is not reduced. - In your case, less than 24 hours have passed, so protection is maintained.
