How to use Emanera, Ulcamed and Prokit? Can there be epigastric pain, tarry stool and white bloom on the tongue during the treatment of stomach ulcers?
Good morning! For stomach ulcers I have medications: Emanera 40mg 1 tbl.na fasting, Ulkamed 120mg 3x1tbl. 30 min. before meals and PROKIT 50mg 3x 1/2 tbl.30min. before meals . In what order and intervals to take them? Are tarry stool, epigastric pain and white tongue bloom normal symptoms during treatment? Thank you.

In the presence of stomach ulcers, it is not recommended to use laxative preparations containing m.in. senes. Senes has an irritating effect on the gastrointestinal mucosa. You can use other preparations that facilitate defecation, available in online and stationary pharmacies. These include, m.in, preparations containing macrogols. Macrogols increase the amount of water in the intestines and liquefy fecal masses. As a consequence, peristalsis is stimulated, the stool is relaxed and then defecated. If the doctor has recommended a 30-minute interval from meals for each of the preparations, you can use the medication as you mentioned, i.e. Emanera on an empty stomach, after 30 minutes Ulcamed, after another 30 minutes Prokit and only after 30 minutes breakfast. Before lunch and dinner, you only use Ulcamed and Prokit. However, in the summary of product characteristics we find the following information: 1) Emanera can be used together with food or on an empty stomach, unless otherwise advised by your doctor. In case of abdominal pain and tarry stool (with the addition of blood), it is recommended to consult the attending physician. The drug can mask the symptoms of worsening stomach ulcers: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/26933/emanera-kapsulki/apteki 2) Ulcamed can be used at least 30 minutes apart from meals (do not eat or drink both before and after using the drug). The preparation should be used before breakfast, lunch and dinner.
