Good morning, are pharmaceutical raw materials subject to the Anti-Counterfeiting Directive and should a QR code therefore be placed on their packaging?

Scanning and verification of originality are subject to drugs with the availability categories Rp, Rpz, Rpw and Lz. According to the definition contained in the Pharmaceutical Law: "pharmaceutical raw material - is a substance or mixture of substances used in the preparation or manufacture of medicinal products". Thus, pharmaceutical raw materials do not need to have a QR code on packaging. Instead, they shall be subject to a preliminary series check at the expense of the marketing authorisation holder.
