Hello. I take metocard in the morning and evening. A few days ago I was at the cardiologist who prescribed me Amlopin 5mg saying to take it at the time of the pressure jump. If I don't have these jumps every day, don't take it. My question is whether Amlopin will work by taking it only temporarily and at a given moment?

Amlopin is for continued use. It is not commonly used on an ad hoc basis, in the case of pressure jumps. In case of sudden pressure jumps, doctors most often recommend the use of captopril. Due to the fact that Amlopin is subject to a doctor's prescription, the decision on how to take the medicine is made by the prescribing physician and he is responsible for the safety of the therapy. The doctor, based on his own knowledge and experience, may recommend the use in a different way than it is commonly used. If you have any doubts, I encourage you to consult your doctor again.
