Concomitant use of Escitalopram with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (Voltaren, Nurofen) may lead to an increased risk of bleeding, including gastrointestinal bleeding. Especially in people who have suffered from peptic ulcer disease in the past.
The cause of abdominal pain may not be an interaction, but simply the use of Nurofen or Voltaren. Abdominal pain is a side effect that has been reported with the use of these preparations.
