Should I stop using Metronidazole gel if the itching, redness and burning of this place has increased?

For 4 days I have been using Metronidazole gel for an indeterminate spot above the eyebrow. I noticed that after application the itching of this place, redness, burning intensified. Should I stop using the gel? Or maybe this is how it works?

According to the Summary of Product Characteristics, dryness, erythema, itching and burning of the skin are common side effects of Metronidazole gel: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/48756/metronidazol-jelfa-zel/ulotka/15733 If you are concerned about the effect of the drug, it is best to talk about it with your doctor who has been informed in detail about your state of health. I also encourage you to report the occurrence of side effects of the preparation. Reporting side effects increases control over commercially available medicines. We wrote about how and why to report side effects in the article: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane
