Nie ma badań stwierdzających, iż tenofovir może chronić przed zachorowaniem na COVID-19.
Choć zastosowanie tenofoviru było rozpatrywane w kontekście leczenia COVID-19, jak do tej pory nie stosuje się tego typu praktyk.
