I've been using Kyleena IUD for 3 years and I haven't had any bleeding for the last six months and now I have my period every month - is this normal?

Hello, a question. I've had the Kyleena in it for almost 3 years and had no period until about 6 months ago never had any problems, now I get my period every month almost on time, before only a few drops now it's getting more and more but still only have to use panty liners. Is that possible? Is this normal? Or does the effect wear off?

Changes in the cycle image do not necessarily indicate an abnormality. After 3 years of insertion of the Kyleena IUD, approximately 20% of patients observe no bleeding, while the remaining 80% have their menstrual period. If you experience other symptoms (e.g. pain) during bleeding, you should see a gynaecologist. If the bleeding intensifies, a medical consultation will also be advisable.

On our website, it is possible to take advantage of a teleconsultation with a gynaecologist - I encourage you to use it in case of any doubts:
