I understand that struggling with pain and sleep problems can be very difficult. The co-occurrence of pain and sleep disorders is not uncommon. The prevalence of insomnia in populations suffering from chronic pain oscillates between 50-88%. If you have been given Transtec patches (fentanyl, an opioid used to relieve chronic pain), it is important to be careful when combining them with sleep medications. I am not able to recommend specific medications, based on such a brief description, but I can give general guidance: 1) Consultation with the attending physician: Before taking any sleep medications, including over-the-counter ones, it is worth consulting a doctor, especially considering that you are already taking Transtec patches. 2) Staying focused: Many sleep medications, including over-the-counter ones, can cause side effects or interact with opioids such as fentanyl. Consultation with a doctor will help to avoid the risk of unwanted interactions. 3) Limiting stimulants: Try limiting your intake of caffeine and other stimulants during the day to make it easier to fall asleep at night. 4) Relaxation techniques: Practicing relaxation techniques such as meditation, deep breathing, or yoga can help you fall asleep and improve sleep quality. 5) Maintaining a regular sleep rhythm: Try to go to bed and wake up at fixed times, which can help regulate your sleep rhythm. 6) Suitable sleeping environment: Try to create comfortable sleeping conditions in the bedroom, such as darkness, quiet and peaceful space, and a comfortable bed. 7) Avoiding physical activity before bedtime: Try to avoid intense physical activity immediately before bedtime, as this can make it difficult to fall asleep. As a pharmacist, within my competence, I can offer over-the-counter products, which we wrote about here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/preparaty-na-sen Melatonin: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/47918/melatonina-lek-am-tabletki/apteki Valused: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/81322/valused-kapsulki/apteki
