Hysteroscopy is not the same as curettage. Hysteroscopy is a procedure that involves viewing the inside of the uterus in magnification using a special device that is inserted through the vagina into the cervix and then into the uterine cavity. The image appears on the monitor and thanks to this we can precisely remove changes in the uterus under visual control. In the case of curettage, we do not use the image from the monitor, so the operation is less precise. During hysteroscopy, the risk of adhesions is much lower than in the case of curettage. This is especially important in women of childbearing age.
