An even plasma level of Neurotop retard (prolonged-release forms) is achieved approximately 2 to 8 days after the start of treatment. After this time, it can be considered that the drug has a full effect. Indications for the use of the drug Neurotop are epilepsy, manic syndromes, alcohol withdrawal syndrome, idiopathic neuralgia of the trigeminal nerve, diabetic neuropathy. The use of carbamazepine (the active substance Neurotop retard) in depressive disorders is the use of the drug off-label. In practice, carbamazepine is also used in depressive disorders.
