How is Rupafin and Clemastinum used?

Good evening. I have a rash of unknown origin, rather allergic, extensive. Yesterday I was on sor, I got Clemastin and dexaven intravenously, I was consulted by an internist, because there was no dermatologist. I got Clemastin tablets at home, I have rupafin from my family doctor, both doctors recommended a visit to a dermatologist, which I can get to only on Monday. The rash continues to itch and burn, can I take rupafin and clemastin twice a day?

I would like to point out at the beginning that both drugs belong to the group of antihistamines, they are characterized by a similar mechanism of action, hence they should not be used simultaneously. For Rupafin, which contains rupatadine, the standard dosage is 1 tablet per day. Clemastin contains clemastine and in this case the basic dosing regimen is 2 tablets a day. In the absence of a response to the standard dosage, the dose can be increased to a maximum of 4 tablets. Klemastine is a drug of the older generation, hence often during use there is an adverse effect in the form of drowsiness, fatigue. Failure to respond to the basic dose of two tablets per day is a prerequisite for increasing the dose, however, this may exacerbate the side effects mentioned above, which may be joined by m.in dry mouth. Rupatadine is a newer generation drug that basically does not cause a feeling of drowsiness, and in addition is characterized by good effectiveness. If drowsiness appears after using Clemastin, I suggest using Rupafin. If Clemastin is well tolerated, when symptoms are still present, you can increase its dose. I emphasize to stay with one drug, since the simultaneous use of both has no clinical justification. For my part, I draw attention to the possibility of using emollients externally. They are characterized by moisturizing, lubricating and regenerating effects, hence their basic indication are skin problems, including, for example, atopic dermatitis. Please also remember to tell your dermatologist about taking allergy medications, as this is important m.in if you order allergy tests.
