After the end of antibiotic therapy, will hearing return to its previous state?

For 10 days I have been taking kiacid 250, prescribed along with another antibiotic by a nephrologist because I have to get rid of Helicibacter pylori because I am preparing for a kidney transplant. One of the side effects is hearing loss. Therefore, I have a question: after the end of therapy with this antibiotic, will hearing return to its previous state?

Available research results show that transient or permanent hearing damage after macrolide antibiotics (e.g. Klacid) is much more common in people with kidney failure. However, hearing loss is reversible in this case (usually after 2-3 weeks after the end of therapy, the situation returns to the state before treatment). However, there are situations that permanent hearing damage occurs, especially if Klacid is combined with other antibiotics, e.g. aminoglycoside antibiotics m.in gentamicin, tobramycin, streptomycin. Then the changes may be irreversible. If hearing loss persists after about 4 weeks from the end of antibiotic therapy, it is worth consulting an ENT specialist. I would also like to mention that all side effects of medicines should be reported to the doctor, which we write about here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane
