I am 4 weeks after knee arthroscopy and have been taking a drug based on codeine and paracetamol so far. Since the swelling does not go away, the doctor prescribed me Nimesil, which I have been taking for several days. In the meantime, I was on a private visit to another doctor who prescribed me another NSAID called Aclexa. From what I can see, it is safer for the stomach. Which one is more effective and can I replace Nimesil with Aclexa overnight?

Scientific studies in patients suffering from osteoarthritis have shown that nimesulide (Nimesil) and celecoxib (Aclexa) are similar in terms of effectiveness and tolerability in the treatment of osteoarthritis. Faster improvements in night pain were observed in patients taking celecoxib, while patients taking nimesulide showed a faster improvement in prarameters, such as morning stiffness and physical fitness, and pain severity. There are no contraindications to stop taking Nimesil overnight and start taking Aclexa. I encourage you to read the article: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jakie-leki-przeciwbolowe-stosowac
