Hello, can rupafin be given to a child suffering from smallpox to relieve skin itching? The child is 5.5 years old. Unfortunately, zyrtec solution causes allergic urticaria.

Rupafin is a prescription preparation and should not be used without medical advice. It is a 2nd generation antihistamine that can m.in relieve skin itching and urticaria. In the form of tablets, it can be administered only from the age of 12, however, a 5.5-year-old child (if he weighs more than 25 kg) can be given this drug in the form of syrup in a dose of 5 ml once a day.
