Witamina K2 (najpopularniejsza jej forma to MK-7) bierze udział w metabolizmie kostnym. Poprawia mineralizację kości oraz pomaga w wiązaniu wapnia przez kości. Stosowana może być przy jednoczesnym przyjmowaniu bardzo wysokich dawek witaminy D3, przez co może zapobiegać zwapnieniom naczyń oraz hiperkalcemii.
Dodatkowo zarówno witamina D3 jak i K2 powinny być przyjmowane przy posiłkach tłuszczowych, gdyż obie te witaminy rozpuszczają się tłuszczach i ich wchłanianie będzie wtedy lepsze.
