Preparat Saxenda powinien być stosowany zgodnie z zaleceniami lekarza prowadzącego. W każdym wstrzykiwaczu znajduje się 18 mg liraglutydu.
Najczęściej zaleca się rozpoczęcie stosowania preparatu w następującym schemacie:
Tydzień 1. 0,6 mg raz na dobę
Tydzień 2. 1,2 mg raz na dobę
Tydzień 3. 1,8 mg raz na dobę
Tydzień 4. 2,4 mg raz na dobę
Od 5. tygodnia 3,0 mg raz na dobę
