Avène Tolérance Extrême opisywany jest jako "krem o bogatej konsystencji", co oznacza, że będzie odpowiedni raczej do cery suchej i alergicznej. Zgodnie z deklaracją na stronie producenta: "Tolérance Extrême Krem powstał szczególnie z myślą o wszystkich rodzajach skóry wrażliwej i polecane jest do higieny, demakijażu i fuzyjnego nawilżenia utrzymując jej maksymalną równowagę". Nie padają więc tutaj rekomendacje dla cery trądzikowej, która wprawdzie także wymaga nawilżenia i utrzymania bariery hydrolipidowej, ale na ogół nie jest sucha i preferuje lekkie formulacje.
