What does it mean to write on a 2x3 prescription next to a medicine Amotaks?

Hello, my son got amotaxs 500mg/5ml. On the prescription it says dosage 2x3. Does this mean that I should give him 3 ml of solution? I would like to add that the child weighs 15 kg and is 4 years old. Best regards

The 2x3 dosage on the prescription means 3 ml of Amotaks is given 2 times a day (every 12 hours).
