Both Xifaxan and Kostarox are medications that can only be used on a doctor's recommendation. If your medication has been prescribed by different specialists, please consult one of them.
Kostarox is indicated in adults and adolescents aged 16 years and older for the symptomatic treatment of osteoarthritis (OA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), ankylosing spondylitis, and the treatment of joint pain and symptoms of inflammation in the acute phase of gout.
Xifaxan, on the other hand, is indicated for the treatment of symptomatic, uncomplicated diverticular disease of the large intestine in adult patients on a high-residue diet.
The interaction between rifaximin (the active substance in Xifaxan) and etoricoxib (the active substance in Kostarox) has not been described. However, you should remember to report any worrying ailments to your doctor.
Please note, however, that contraindications to the use of Kostarox include active gastric and/or duodenal ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding, as well as inflammation of the lining of the intestines. If you have been prescribed Xifaxan for diverticular bowel disease, Kostarox will not be a good choice. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise,
