Good morning, I am on the first pack of Vines, I have 4 active tablets left. Yesterday I had intercourse, and today there was spotting and a slight abdominal pain for the period. Should I be afraid of anything? Could it be due to intercourse or could it be the normal side effects of contraception? I know there may be spotting, but I'm puzzled by the aching lower abdomen.

Lower abdominal pain can also be an adverse reaction to the use of contraceptive pills. Both spotting and pain during the use of active pills can be caused by factors such as stress and are not a cause for concern. If this situation repeats itself more often, you can report it to your gynecologist. Reporting side effects to your doctor or individually allows you to gather more information about the safety of your medications and update data about them, which can help other patients in the future.
